Louis Melius
Louis Melius (September 1844 – January 21, 1923) was a newspaperman, author, and a clerk for the United States Government. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia the son of Conrad and Anna Mary Melius, both of whom emigrated to the United States from Germany. He was the author of The American Postal Service, published in 1917. He was a lifelong resident of Washington, DC, where he died in the home of his daughter in 1923.
